IDEA'S FOR RECRUITMENT POSTERS

Many times you are not able to hold a formal girl scout rally, so consider having table and booth displays at PTO/PTA meetings, Open Houses, Special community events, etc.  Below are some samples of booths that could be used as well as a few other booths to demonstrate rally techniques.
This booth should get almost anyone to your booth.

Set up your booth with pamphlets, council information, registration forms, etc. and be sure to have a drawing for a special gift.

People love to receive a prize so if they do not take the time to register, they will take the time to give you their name/address and phone # to win a prize.

With this information, you will be able to build a mailing list to contact potential new girl scouts and leaders.

This is a great display that could be used at an open house, pta/pto meeting or community event.  Having samples of the uniforms & books and any other information that will peek their interest should be used.

Rally on the Wheels

This is a wonderful idea.  Keep your rally kit ready to go.  You never know when you will be invited to have a booth or to talk about girl scouting.  Having your rally information packed and ready to go makes it easy for anyone to promote girl scouting in a matter of minutes.  Be sure to include flyers, hand books and any other literature that will help you get your message across.

Building Tomorrow's World Leaders

This is a great poster.  Notice the diversity in the pictures.  A great example of using resources wisely.  This entire poster was made from pictures found from old girl scout publications.  You can use old annual reports, cookie boxes, newsletters, Leader's magazines, GS calendars and any other resources that you might have access to.

Both of the above  posters have pictures of adults working with girls.  Many people assume that girl scout leaders are truly green angels sent to us so that we will have leaders just waiting to be their daughter's leader.  We know better!!!

Having posters like this help people realize that we not only recruit girls but adults.  This is a good place to have leader applications available and ready.  This is also a good booth to have older girls from your Service Unit man to let people know what their leader means to them.

Ways to Entertain Children who comes to Rally with their Parents

When holding rallies it is very hard to promote girl scouting or recruit adults when the children are in the room.  This poster was used at a recent recruitment training to give ideas of what you could have available to keep the children busy.

Other suggestions for entertaining the children are:

Taking them to another room to sing songs
Taking them to another room to make a simple
craft such as a buddy braid.
Having older girls take them on a tour of  the GS
center if you are holding your rally there

Most of the items can be found on the internet:

Law Color Book: http://jenefer.speedyweb.com/daisyhelps.shtml

The word search and mazes can be found on most  kids game sites
Simple jigsaw puzzles can be bought at any dollar store.
Also included on this sample board was a buddy braid and the instructions.
